Our Policies
Our students always come first but all of us need to play fair so we had to write some things down
When you register for a class, you are paying for our knowledge and expertise, not our time. If the learning goals of the class are met it may end early. Similarly, our instructor may stay longer to help a student.
CAD Software
We will use the most appropriate computer aided design (CAD) software for the class. For example – TinkerCAD is used for instruction in our introduction classes. TinkerCAD is a free online CAD software. In intermediate and advanced classes we may use CAD software like Fusion360, OnShape, OpenSCAD, or Blender.
Limits on included prints
Filament type, length and printing time limits apply to the 3Dprints that are included in the classes. Limits vary with each class but generally speaking they cannot exceed our machine capacity, filament stock and makerspace capabilities. For example in an introduction class a print cannot exceed 3 hours print time or 200 mm height from printer bed. Your instructor will clarify this during class and offer specific details. If you need more information please contact us.
Class Booking
After payment is received, your instructor will email you to arrange class bookings. We use an online calendar that displays available appointments where you can pick time slots.
Shipping Policy
We package and ship printed models within 2 business days. If you do not receive your 3D print in 10 days from our shipping date, please let us know.
Class Substitution Policy
If a student misses their online class at the allocated time slot, for, whatever reason, they may be offered a slot in the next available class with a similar peer group.
Refund Policy
We offer refunds only in exceptional circumstances. To ask for a refund, please contact us. Refunds may be subject to an administration fee.
Internet and computers
Our instructors can only offer guidance and/or suggestions regarding problems with your internet connection or computer. Students may be offered a substitute class if they suffer from technical difficulties that prevent them from learning in an online class. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to join our online class with a stable internet connection and a working computer on time. (For recommendations please contact us before class starts)
Background Checks
We obtain state and federal background checks for all instructors/employees/contractors of Be A Maker Club. Records include: County Criminal Records check (Felony & Misdemeanor), Sex Offender Registry check, and Federal Criminal History check.
Release
Every student (or their parent/legal guardian) must complete our online release form in order to start a class. Students may be denied class instruction if the release form is not complete before class starts. You can review our release here.
Refusal of service
We reserve the right to refuse service.
Class time/date changes
While we make every effort to conduct our classes based on the planned schedule, unforeseen circumstances may make it necessary to change the time or date of the class. We endeavor to inform you as soon as practically possible.
If you have questions or comments about any of our policies, please contact us.
